Can you dig it?

I had a lot of fun planning Paxton's 1st birthday party!  I can't believe it's already over and he'll be 1 tomorrow!  I decided to do the construction theme party after I came across this birthday party. The outside of the cake was amazing (cause the outside is all that matters, right?) but the inside ended up a little dry and I definitely saw the results of me trying to cut the slants fast and without measuring.  I'll be honest I didn't taste the inside or the outside. Shame on me.

My family came up from Utah and I was so happy ALL three brothers were able to make it.  And Jason's parents came over as well and we enjoyed a taco bar. I wish Pax could remember it.

Here's a tour of his party!

And this is how we ended our night!

Construction Cake 4 layer 8” cake

I used to Yellow Cake mixes which is why they didn't freeze right and were crumbly. I died two of the cakes with black food coloring.  Here is a picture tutorial that I got the inspiration from.  Mine wasn't nearly that awesome looking. My lines were crazy.

Pax is 11 Months!

Oh goodness he is so close to walking! It's still a work in progress but give it a couple more weeks and we should be there.

He touched fireplace glass and got blisters on all five fingers on his right hand. It was really sad.
Had his first little bout of the flu. Then I got it, then Jase.
Started sleeping through the night about 4 weeks ago. We have had just a handful of nights where he didn't.
Still wears some 6 months clothes
Likes Gatorade and string cheese
Introduced him to the sippy cup. He doesn't understand to hold it up when he is upright.
Went to the Aquarium in Utah
He pushes anyone out of his way if he doesn't want you there, especially when he wants to get in lower cabinets that don't have locks.
He got 4 teeth within one week and now has 4 on top and 4 on bottom and they are adorable.
He got to meet uncle Brent when we went to the airport to pick him up from his mission!

2012 flashback

2012 was the best year for us so far!! We can't wait for what 2013 will bring.
January-My mom threw the most amazing baby shower for me to welcome little Pax! Jason and I also celebrated our 3 year anniversary!

February- We decorated the nursery and found out that we would probably have Pax early because he was measuring small. Started counting down to meet little boy.

March- On March 6th we welcomed the most beautiful baby boy into our family. He was healthy and the delivery was perfect.

April- Pax had his first trip to Utah to visit Grandma and Grandpa Pratt and go to the zoo.

May- We blessed Pax on May 6th.  Jason gave the most beautiful blessing.

June- Pax and I went to Utah again and visited the Lake. He was not a fan. Jason and I also broke ground on our new home.

July- Pax had his first trip on the boat for the 4th of July. He slept through all of the fireworks.

August- Pax and I went to California with my family. We went to the beach, Sea World, and Disneyland. We also went to St. George for a week and Pax enjoyed the pool.

September- Jason celebrated his 29th birthday!

October- We visited the pumpkin patch and we were Aladdin's crew for Halloween.

November- Pax and I went to Utah for Thanksgiving while dad worked on the house. ( He insisted) We also did a 5-generation photo

December- Celebrated Christmas in Hawaii!

Pax is 10 months!

My little boy is almost a year old. Now that is amazing. This past month has been so fun with him.

-he does so good at waving
-he gives the best hugs and slobbery kisses
-he broke through his fifth tooth (third on top), yesterday, the day he turned 10 months.
-we celebrated his first Christmas and new year, and it was in Hawaii. No one made it to midnight, as usual. We're real party animals in the Lee house.
-took his first step on Christmas and hasn't since.
-loves to take off his socks
-likes to growl and will growl back and forth with you
-has become almost impossible at times to change his diaper or clothes by myself. He throws a fit
-He loves to do skype with grandma and grandpa
-for most people it is extremely hard to get him to smile. Seriously its crazy. My brother said it well when he said he has a good poker face. He'll most likely just stare at you and think you're crazy.
- He has an evil eye that he will give me or anyone. He puts his head down and then looks at you.
-I think we're ready for his first hair cut. Any volunteers?
-He likes to squish his food between his fingers and then not eat it
-We got an ipad for Christmas and it helped entertain him on the plane a little to watch Bubble Guppies
-He loves the red wagon Grandma Lee got him for Christmas
- He is definitely a biter with those teeth of his. And it hurts.
-He grinds his teeth
-He wants what you're eating not his own food
-he likes it when you play peek-a-boo
-He loves to be read to and flip the pages in the book. His favorite book is Thats Not My Monster
-He loves his little yogurt bites
-He fake coughs
-He loves to look at himself in the mirror or in pictures
-If he doesn't want your hand somewhere, he pushes it out of the way
-we introduced the sippy cup on Saturday with Gatorade. He likes it.
-started letting him sleep with a blanket and he loves it. Since then he has had a couple nights of not waking up. I wish it would continue and I wish I could sleep through the night when he does.
-He is completely adorable

This past weekend Paxton got the flu. Then I did. And Jason has it now. Pax is still a little sick and its so sad to watch him throw up. So today I took him to the doctor and he is 28 1/2 inches tall and he's lost weight because of being sick. The end of November he weighed 16.5 lbs and today he was 16.1 lbs. He's now in the 1 percentile. The doctor called him a skinny bean pole. Poor boy. So his pictures will have to come in a few days. Hopefully he feels all better soon. And Jason too.

I can't believe I'm starting to plan his first birthday party. This is seriously so exciting.

Hawaiian Christmas

Hawaii was amazing, warm, rainy, humid, and beautiful.

Pax learned to love the sand after he saw my feet in it first.

We ate at Kahuku Grill twice. I will never forget you, Big Bad Bacon Guacamole Cheeseburger with Grilled pineapple. So Hawaiian. So messy. So delicious. Who knows when we will be reunited again.

Moving on... (as I wipe the drool off my chin) Thank you mom and dad for taking us. We had a blast!

Yesterday Jase and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. Time sure is a thief.
Through hard times and good times we always come out on top.
I love knowing that I have him forever. He is mine. I am his.

I wouldn't change anything about him and him about me.
We are perfect together. Nothing can separate us.
This past year has brought big changes to our lives. Our little Pax joined us.
I can't wait for all the adventures we have ahead of us.

We have so much to look forward to.

3 Christmas'

Christmas is so much better on Santa's side. Even though Pax doesn't really understand yet, it was still awesome to help him open gifts. We celebrated first on the evening of the 17th of December with Jason's parents.  We filmed Jason walking him down the hallway as if it was the morning of Christmas.  Pax was so excited walking down the hall. We enjoyed trying to keep him from crawling away from the gifts. He got a tool set, blocks, musical piano, a few other things and an awesome
wagon from grandma and grandpa Lee!

We then celebrated on the evening of the 21st, with the gifts that we couldn't take to Hawaii. Santa (grandma and grandpa Pratt) got him a little tikes car which he was so excited about. He can go in reverse with it. He also got a Spongebob sleeping bag and musical toys that he loves.

In Hawaii we celebrated Christmas morning with Pax opening up just a few gifts like books (he loves books!) and matchbox cars. And we ended Christmas morning with Paxton taking his first step!

I seriously can't wait till next Christmas when he will be a little older and maybe understand the Spirit of Christmas a little more.
